The House of Mortality

A place to discuss mortality with honesty, prepare with care, and support the people we love.

Life, Death, and Room for Conversation

A place for honest conversations about living, dying, grief, and the things we often struggle to say.

Through personal stories, thoughtful research, and a willingness to ask difficult questions, I’m exploring how we can care for one another through every phase of life—including its ending.

You’re welcome here with your faith, your doubts, your curiosity, and your own experience. You don’t need the right words or a particular set of beliefs. There is room for you.

    Meet Kass

    Learning. Listening. Making room.

Welcome! I’m Kass. A writer and a fellow question-asker. I’m making room for the stories, uncertainties, and conversations that help us feel less alone.
As I work toward my bachelor's degree with a focus on Thanatology—the study of death, dying, grief, and bereavement—I am deepening my understanding of the human experience surrounding mortality. With interests in counseling and future graduate studies, my goal is to bring together academic knowledge, compassion, curiosity, and honest conversation to help change how we approach death and, ultimately, how we live.

    What’s taking shape

    THE WRITING:
Personal essays and thoughtful explorations of life, death, grief, and meaning. A space for honest stories and questions worth sitting with.

    THE BOOK · IN PROGRESS:
A longer conversation is taking shape on the page. I’ll share more here as the manuscript grows.

THE PODCAST · ON THE HORIZON:
A future home for voices, stories, and open conversations about the part of life we so often leave unspoken.

Stay in the conversation: Occasional reflections, new writing, and updates as the book and podcast take shape
